Author, Leader, and Advocate for Meaningful Work
The Journey to Meaningful Work
After more than two decades at Microsoft, I've learned that the most fulfilling careers aren't about climbing ladders or collecting titles. They are built on small, Meaningful Moves that create real, lasting impact for yourself and the people around you.
Over the past 20 years, I've had the privilege of leading teams across the U.S., Japan, and India and mentoring professionals around the globe. My work at Microsoft has centered on helping organizations and individuals grow, whether that meant guiding teams through the adoption of new technologies like Generative AI or supporting people as they navigated the real-world challenges of building purposeful careers.
My goal has always been to offer practical insight, emotional honesty, and a focus on long-term growth. Through my writing, I aim to reach anyone facing career uncertainty, change, or new opportunities, regardless of their industry or role. I believe that leadership is grounded in trust, that growth often comes through discomfort, and that lasting impact is built through everyday actions.
Today, I'm passionate about helping others navigate their own career journeys with intention and purpose. Whether through my writing, speaking, or one-on-one conversations, I want to help you build a career that matters.

Beyond the Professional
When I'm not working, you'll usually find me staying active—hitting the gym, taking on a challenging FEELCYCLE session, or enjoying the outdoors. I love spending time on the beach, fishing, stand-up paddleboarding, and hiking the mountain trails near my home in Japan. Food and travel are passions of mine, whether I'm exploring new tastes and places abroad or discovering hidden gems in my own backyard.
I was inspired to write by my mother, Karen Robbins, who is fiction author and an avid blogger for over 20 years. I also was finally pushed by my friend and fellow author, Jason Gilmore, to finally get my first book done and published.
I enjoy reading, both fiction and non-fiction. I'm inspired by authors like Simon Sinek, Adam Grant, Brené Brown, Cal Newport, Susan Cain, and Dorie Clark, who explore what makes people and organizations thrive. I love the storytelling of Will Guidara in his book Unreasonable Hospitality. One of my favorite fiction authors is Haruki Murakami. I really enjoy getting lost in the worlds he creates. There's nothing better than a good novel or a thoughtful book that offers a fresh perspective.
I believe that embracing new experiences—whether it’s learning a new skill, pushing through a tough workout, or getting lost in a good book—shapes how I approach leadership and growth, both for myself and those I work with.
