I am working on an incredible team in Japan. They have been gracious in welcoming me to the team and patient during the time we learn to communicate better with each other through language and culture learning. Everyday that I have a chance to work side-by-side with them, I'm amazed by the technical depth and the dedication to helping the Japenese developer community.
Our larger team is called Developer Experience & Evangelism (DX) and then my immediate team is the Cloud Technical Evangelists. One of the things I want to do is make sure everyone in the world knows who the people on my team are and just how amazingly talented they are. Because most of their activities are in Japanese, many people to do not get the opportunity to meet and learn from them.
You will be hearing a lot about the people on my team, whether you follow me on Twitter, LinkedIn or here on this blog. So I hope you will get to know them, follow them (learn a little Japanese!) and come visit us in Japan.
Tsuyoshi Mastuzaki-san is one of those people who just always has a smile on his face. It makes conversations with him so enjoyable. Tsuyoshi also backs that smile up with a great techincal depth in both Microsoft Azure Active Directory and Office 365 development. This skillset is so important as we think about the next wave of productivity apps that developers will build for the Enterprise. Tsuyoshi also has such great business insight and a strong relationship with the developer community.
Hiroshi Ota-san is our resident "Internet Of Things" expert. He has the ability to go from high level language constructs all the way down the metal to create some pretty amazing experiences in small packages. I first met Hiroshi-san at our de:code developer event in Japan where he showed a cloud-controlled truck with all sorts of sensors and an automated home controlled by the .NET Microframework. I'm honored to work with someone with as much technical depth as Hiroshi-san.
Akira Inoue-san represents what true customer-focused evangelism is all about. He is well-connected to the community, knows web technology inside and out, and he gives amazing presentations that inspire people to learn and discover new things. Akira-san is known all across Japan as a technical leader and he is constantly requested to speak at events, whether focused on Microsoft or not. He knows the art of a great presentation and demo.
Daisuke Inoue-san is someone who is so prepared for the "cloud first, mobile first" world that Microsoft is enabling. He has a long history in client app development, but also is a master of cloud technologies. But most importantly, he takes those two areas and combines them into unique ideas and ways for us to enable developers to build great solutions. I really enjoy ideation sessions with Daisuke because he's not afraid to explore new areas and new ideas.
Daiyu Hatekayama-san has the impressive skill of being able to speak English faster than I can. His passion for technology and his work is immediately obvious when you speak to him. He is one of the most capable Technical Evangelists in the world around our cloud-based media encoding and broadcast technology (Microsoft Azure Media Services). Daiyu-san is an enabler. He loves to solve customer problems with technology solutions.
